First Week at school

So today is the third day at my new school. I just got back from my first class, a class focusing on Virginia Woolf and Toni Morrison. It seems like a pretty interesting class, although everyone seemed to know each other and I didn't know anyone. ha. Oh well. I just have to practice being outgoing, which I was never very good at doing.

So I am very excited that I have my own room (a single room within an apartment) and I have PLENTY of desk space which means... I am SO bringing my sewing machine here! I think I'll stop home this weekend to pick up that plus a few other things. My roommates (or apartmentmates or whatever you want to call them) seem really nice. I haven't seen much of one of the girls... pretty much just said hi and that's it. But the other two seem very nice.

My sister came to visit which was very nice AND I had a surprise! My BROTHER called and said he was on campus! I never actually expected him to come visit me!! Okay, picture a skateboarding 19 year old who thinks he is so cool, whose hair you never see because his hat is glued to his head and who you NEVER see because he's out with his friends in a car that isn't even his. Now, do you understand why I was so surprised to find him at my apartment? :)

Anyway, that's all for now. I'll let you know when I bring my sewing machine!!

New Bag soon!

I am currently working on a new orange and blue bag. I am really liking it so far and I already have a name picked out for it: Blue Harvest. Hopefully the name isn't too corny or anything. *shrug* Actually, after I had already decided on it, I found out that a Pinback song is named Blue Harvest. (If you don't know Pinback, you should try them out! One of my favorite bands... :)) Blue Harvest the song is not their best song, but it's okay.

Anyway, I've been packing and doing laundry all day to go back to school tomorrow. You don't realize how much stuff you have until you actually put it into boxes and say to yourself "where did all this come from?" And you can't possibly leave any of it because you actually do use all of it. It's pretty pitiful.

If I can finish the new bag between packing and moving and starting new classes, then it should be up on Etsy soon. Keep an eye out for the new Blue Harvest bag!

New Blog!

Well, hello everyone! I am new to blogging, so go easy on me. This is the "official" blog for Cottonlily, my etsy store where I sell bags and purses. I had a pretty busy summer, so it was difficult getting projects done so I could put them up on the website. Despite the fact that there were only four things for sale, I sold my first bag! It was my favorite bag too, the Buttercup Yellow Quilt Bag. I shed a tear as I shipped it out. :)

I plan on getting some fall items up there soon. I am going back to school in a few days (transferred to a new school... cross your fingers.) so I am really going to have to plan in some sewing time everyday. :)

So thanks for looking at my blog and my shop! Look back for more posts soon!
